Stupid Argument about Public Holidays

I always complain bout anything, everything.

My hubby thinks I complain too much and I just cannot stop. But it is the only way out to vent my views, anger and destress.

Yesterday me boss and I was talking about public holidays. He said he's gonna take the X'mas week off! I'm so happy cos I'm gonna be working and I can be left alone. And he said I can leave early on the eve like after 2pm. Then I said next holiday will be Australian Day.

Then we had this stupid argument.

I said, since Australian Day falls on a weekend, then we sure have a day off on Monday, which is logical. Then he said "NO, they won't give us a holiday because they can't put Australian Day on a Monday when it is not supposed to be Monday?" and he gave me this stupid smile on his face and asked me "Ha, err, how long have you been in Australia?"

And I was honestly pretty upset becos this has nothing to do with how long I've been here. It felt like an insult. Then I said "Oh is it, that's strange? That means we gonna have 9 public holidays instead of 10 just because Australian Day falls on a weekend?" And quickly google it while he went on preaching.

HAHA, and I was right. And now my turn "err.. it says on the govt website that we gonna have Monday off?"

He replied " Oh they must have changed it. We never had that before"

ANYONE OUT THERE WHO WORKS IN GOVT, PLEASE TELL ME IF THEY REALLY DID CAME OUT WITH THIS STUPID PUBLIC HOLIDAY RULE JUST FOR AUSTRALIAN DAY?

*Trying to calm down*

Another topic: I'm trying to take 17 days off leave for my wedding next year. It is gonna be difficult cos I've only started my job. I've got a few bosses above me. Let's call them H and T. I emailed H about my leave. She replied saying that she's not sure what's happening to my contract after 4th Jan 08. When I already spoke to T that they will extend my contract till I get a permanent position. Annoying! Does anyone talk to anyone? Well, I'm just happy to go unpaid. I need this holiday. It will be for wedding in Singapore, honeymoon (so excited!) and Chinese new year (CNY).

Talking about CNY, I dragged spending CNY in Perth. It is just terrible and absolutely BORING. The only time I enjoyed it is when we had the celebration in Church. It feels alot of homely. There were home cooked food, cookies and Yu Sheng! My hubby's family doesn't really celebrate CNY. They do have their dinner which will be the same food for birthdays and gathering.

I craved for my Foochow fishballs, red wine chicken ( my dad makes his own wine ekeke), stir fried rice cakes, braised pork belly and chicken, special stir fried vegetables with leeks and etc. The thought of it makes me drool! And for CNY, we just eat all day. Maybe 5 meals a day haha. We used to visit a few families during CNY but we don't now. But my mum will still cook yummy food so still have the CNY feel.

So, I can't wait for my next visit to Singapore. Many great things will be happening!

Now, I will just sit around and count down.
