New Thongs

I bought these about two weeks ago for $5!!! I love it!

I love these sunglasses!

Finally spoke to my sister who came back from UK. I didn't realised she went to Manchester, only to find out that she had an earthquake experience! Luckily she was ok!

----------------------------------------------

We headed home after Fred picked me up from work. The lights stopped working again. It just kept on tripping. Then we had to ring up the electrician again. He was a nice guy. He advised us over the phone how to do a few testings. Apparently most of the testing failed. So he had to come by and it was after business hours. Fred had a chat with him while he was working on the RCD thing and realised he was born in Port Hedland (North of Perth, super hot + alot of salt) too! And he is on Facebook too ahha.. quite funny.

Fred was so happy that everything was fixed! He then happily opened his new MacBook Air. It was really thin and I don't quite like it personally. They should come up with more colours. Maybe when they come up with a nice Red colour one I will buy on too.

Though it was Thursday we didn't go out shopping. We had lotsa steamed dishes for dinner. Then we decided to watch American Gangster which we had been talking about it for the longest time. It was a super long movie (158 mins) but it was quite good. Though I had a massive headache after too much concentration. It was hard to believe Denzel was the bad guy in this movie. Abit of twist for me cos I didn't really watch the trailer or read much review. But he came out good in the end, helping the police to catch all the corrupted police. Both Fred and I thought it was quite crazy to know it was actually based on a TRUE STORY!

Alright that's it for now. Hopefully today will be a good day for me. If only my boss can stop pissing me off. I think he is bullying me and I should file a complaint to HR or something. Sigh, why can't people just be normal and stop treating each other like crap?? I've got alot of evil thoughts right now!!! -_-

No Electricity! Earthquake?

I had a crrrazy night!! Just before I went to bed, I decided to go to the toilet. I turned on the light and wala there was a blackout! But hey, air con was still working!!

I have not much knowledge about electricity so I have no idea why this happened. Fred was already half asleep and I had to wake him up. Poor guy, he had to wake up and figure out the RCD box (I think that's what its called). It wasn't a cool night and walking around trying to unplug all the appliances was not funny at all. Worse of all, the fridge was NOT working!!

But I was too tired, I didn't even bother to go toilet since it was so dark. I felt quite bad.... I err went to sleep while Fred was struggling ahha. I just KO!

Whilst I thought I had a deep sleep, I kinda woke up now and then with a few nightmares arhghh. One of them was me in a cab with my Dad and I could see cloud of smoke (looks like atomic bomb mushroom style smoke) and apparently there was a emergency landing for some plane. It was so silly but suddenly I could see some UFO looking plates touching the road, lining up for the plane. Just as I was half awake from my dream, Fred woke me up.

"Wendy... Wendy..."

"Huh"

"Did you feel that? I think there was an earthquake."

"What????"

"I could hear it. The house was shaking..."

"Go to bed. I think you were just dreaming. Or maybe it was the cars."

"I could hear ...."

I don't remembered what he said last. I was dozing back to my sleep.

One of the first thing Fred did this morning was to check if there was any EARTHQUAKE in Perth. The answer was NO there wasn't any earthquake reported.

Then he rang the electrician. Just after he hung up, I happened to turn on the lights and realised that "Hey its working again"

Fred plugged all the appliances including the fridge and IT WAS ALL WORKING!

So we thought just to be safe, let's just wait for the electrician. The guy came and did a check for 2 mins and that costs us $66!!!!!!!

Yes it was a crazy night. But luckily the fridge is working now cos it is 39 degrees today!!!

I'm now back at work and so not wanting to do anything! ZZZzzz

Dash Dash

So I learnt that we are all crazy over Diner Dash! So today I popped into the website http://www.dinerdash.com/ and realised there are different dashes!

I've got the Wedding Dash which is quite fun but I have yet to complete the game! It gets really tough!

Lindy said she completed Level 42 Diner Dash and I wondered why I couldn't even made it to Level 10. I found out I have downloaded Diner Dash Hometown Hero - Gourmet.
And there are heaps of other cool games. I might download the Dress Shop Hop. You just have to match the right outfits for your customers to make the happy. It should be similar to Diner Dash.

There's also the Doggie Dash!

You know when I first played such games I thought it was really silly. Cos the steps are repetitive and I thought it was too simple. Well I was wrong and it is really tough. Definitely not for kids. You need to have extremely good coordination with your mouse. I get sore arm and neck after 3 hours of playing. Do you?

Sigh

Sigh, I'm sighing alot recently.

I'm sighing to my work, my boss, the weather, my vacination, Diner Dash, Wedding Dash, my cooking pots, the creepy crawlies in the house, the moths, the dust, no more white peaches, Oscar (why did Cate Blanchatt missed out again!) and so many other shit!

I must be still recovering from my holidays and I haven't been performing very well at work. Old fart said he is disappointed with the mistakes I kept making. SIGH!

I couldn't pass the level 10 of Diner Dash and it is pissing me off!

A hairy caterpillar was crawling on my arm while I was playing Diner Dash!!!

I headed to the market to find my white peaches but they don't have it anymore!! SIGH!!

Ok, I'm just in a lazy and grumpy mood today and blogging crap. SIGH!!

Oh, I have to repeat my cervical cancer vacination and which means I must wait for another 4 freaking months for the last one!

Tell me why I shouldn't be sighing!

Friday Night Out/ Saturday Sleep

Ok I have go absolutely no PICTURES though we had an eventful night!

Finally met up with some of our friends who were at our wedding. One was going away to Soloman Islands, one was going to Philippines and also celebrating two birthdays, and Fred was one of them.

We had dinner at the The Royal, East Perth. And I was abit star struck to see Rick Hart, he owns this big store similar to Harvey Norman.

Our this group of friends were all married couples, all older than us and some with kids already! But we always have this practice of going to clubs after dinner, or visiting some adult shops and laugh at all the toys!! I wonder who is going to read this post cos I'm alittle embarrassed! But as I mentioned, they are all married and very experience in many things, and so we hang out with them alot! HEHE

Anyway the night went pretty late. And I was not very happy to know the fact that we are attending an early morning breakfast wedding celebration at Hillary's. I know I was going to so grumpy and indeed I was.

Saturday... ...

So I was fighting with Fred for not coming home early cos I slept at 3am, waiting for my hair to dry!! Next morning was just horrible, luckily didn't drink much on Friday, if not it would've been worse. But still I went, and overly dressed up, thinking it might be a full on celebration or at least in a function room. But no, everyone was in their casual t-shirts and jeans and I was wearing my 100% silk dress. Arghh.. at least I didn't look that bad. I wore my fake lashes to make my tired eyes bigger and it really helps. Although the edge of the left one came falling off when I reached the restaurant but it wasn't too obvious!

Breakfast at Jetty's was awesome! It made Fred and I remembered the horrible breakies we had in Maldives (honeymoon). There was so much better mushrooms, sausages, bacons in PERTH!

Still the full on breakfast didn't wake both of us up. We headed back home at 2pm and slept till 8:30pm! And hurried to Fuji Jap restaurant for dinner and slept at 11:30pm after!

Only when we woke up on Sunday 10am, we realised we have wasted a whole Saturday sleeping!!! Ah well... ...

Listing my goals for 08

It is already February and it seems abit too late to list my goals for 2008. But nevertheless I will give it a go.

Now that we have sort out the weddings, honeymoon, and 1/3 of the renovations, I seemed abit lost. Since returning from my holiday, I have not been doing anything rewarding. I feel abit useless sigh. And I mentioned to put up more photos for my holidays.... WENDY YOU ARE SO LAZY!

So time to buck up and *smack* myself and achieve something! I have list the things I want to do this year. I'm still thinking what else is there to add in.

I'm really considering getting a second income. Not because we need money urgently but my current job is not busy enough to make me feel I've been challenged! Maybe I should return to my lloopaccessories. This was my ebay business which I started last year for about 6 months. I must admit it was quite fun but it leads to me checking up on the bids very 2 mins. I was alittle obsessed! I could dig out a number of things I have to sell on ebay which could be interesting. Not sure how much junk I have haha.

I have also included visiting khriisey my cousin in Sydney. We talked about it so many times and I never visited her. Arghh I feel so bad! So I'm going to make it happen maybe in a couple of months time when ticket is cheap. Yes I'm only getting one ticket, leaving Fred behind.

I thought of listing the things I want for the house renos. Then I thought that should be in Fred's list not mine. I do hope we get to install the kitchen this year but who knows what might happen. Things are so freaking expensive. Now the interest rate is going to go up, bloody hell!

Now talking about the economoy.... just makes my blood boils. Ok I failed Economics so I might be talking nonsense here. But one thing I just don't understand, why, if everyone is spending more, means we have to increase the interest rate!!!! Is everyone really spending more? OR are the things just becoming more expensive which equals to us spending more?

For example if I used to pay $1.50 for a peach, and now I make $2.50, does it mean I'm spending more? I'm not spending more because the price of the peach went up! Shouldn't the govt do something about the prices of food+all other things, instead of increasing my interest rate! I think we are paying 7.85% now. It is so damn high!!! My business finance is not very good but 7.85% sounds very high.

This makes me want to find ways to earn more money!! Any ideas? I need something with less capital cos I have got nothing at the moment. But here are some things I love to own

1) Shoes shop
2) Coffeeshop
3) Online accessories shop
4) Online scrapbooking shop
5) Knitting shop with alot of funky yarns!

Maybe I shouldn't be posting my ideas. But who cares? It is not like my ideas are unique. Hmm... I think a knitting shop would be quite cool don't you think? Instead of popping by spotlight/lincraft which can be quite boring.

Alright, my post is quite long already and boring with only text. Sorry guys, I have no pictures to upload cos I usually update my blog at work.

That's it, ciao!

I know where my migraine came from!

I found out it is the glare from a building (with white paint) that can be seen outside my window. And only during summer, the glare is stronger. And because I am sitting in a angle where the corner of my eyes meets the glare from the building, it is giving "watery" vision (according to my sister's term) and slowly becoming migraine.

Anyway, I told my boss about it so that he can pull down the blind on his side. GUESS WHAT HE SAID?? HE SAID IT WILL MAKE THE ROOM VERY DARK AND MAKES HIM SLEEPY!!
I'm so ANGREEEE!!!

And he made a sarcastic comment if it was DAY OR NIGHT NOW? WTF!

To make him happy, I have to pull up the blind on my side which is giving glares on my PC right now.
If my office wasn't so close to home (5 mins bus ride), I would have seriously get a transfer! God! This is like occupational health hazard!

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok on another topic. I just browsed Karen's website. She was promoting this Rootote Canvas bags which I like it very much. Here are some of the designs I like:

Ok I know they don't look fantastic but they look very casual and abit of Jap design. Ok how often can you find super casual looking bags?? Hmm.. they are offering FREE shipping... which one should I get???

Last Day of CNY

Today is the last day of Chinese New Year. Do you celebrate?

If I'm back in Singapore, we will have another big feast. Sometimes we have steamboat. Hmm... how I miss home and the food ahha!

Call me childish, what I really miss is playing firecrackers with my two cousins haha. When we were younger, we would find ways to combine all the firecrackers we have to make a big 'fireworks'. If Lindy reads this she would remember how we will find ways to tie up all the firecrackers and then bundle them up back into the box and light it all up! And see how it rockets into the sky... I mean the air (it never goes very far). Till we left the few sticks of firecrackers, we would bug each other for a couple of more dollars to buy more!

Time goes by so quickly, and everyone is so grown up now!! At least this year we managed to get together to play Black Jack whom my meimei was the biggest loser, and hao, the biggest winner!

Hopefully I will be back in Singas next year and many more CNYs!

PMS PMS!

For the past week, I have been super grumpy and cranky! Fred is going psycho putting up with me shit!

Apart from that, this week is mainly focusing on cooking at home!!! So far we had dinner in doors for Monday and Tuesday!!

Yesterday we had our yummy salmon fillet! Super expensive fillet! $16 for two fillets! But money well spent.

Today I'm going to have Bak Kut Teh with my non smelly pork ribs!! Woo hoo!! Hope it will go well!

I've got nothing much to blog about really. I have been abit depressed and upset over something that I don't want to talk about. But once again, I blame it on my PMS! I need to do some therapy to overcome my unhappiness and learn how to relax abit!! Maybe go back to knitting??

Apparently knitting does help. I have subscribe to Vogue Knitting for awhile. I love their Summer/Spring designs. I will need to dig out all my knitting needles again and get knitting!

---------------------------------------------------------------

ps: Lindy is coming to PERTH!! WOO HOO!! I'm so hAPPY!!

At the Chinese shops

On Saturday arvo, Fred took me to the chinese butcher in Chinatown to get some pork! I was really excited! Imagine consuming smelly pork from the normal supermarket for 2 years! The shop was so busy with so many asians! Even the butchers speaks mandarin!

So I bought two long meaty pork ribs, pork bones (1kg), lean pork (1kg) and chicken wings.

I went home to make pork stock with the pork bones. Usually if I used pork bones from the supermarket, the pork stock will smell. But this time, the fragrance from the pork stock was so good!!! I was so happy! I managed to freeze two containers of stock.

I also bought chicken bones to make stock. This time I used 3 whole chicken bones to make about 500 ml of stock. Can you imagine how thick the stock was??

For dinner last night (again never take photo), I added foochow fishballs, beef balls, prawns, caixin, lean pork to my pork soup. It was like steamboat! So yummy!!

---------------------------------------------

There's no recipe to make stock. It is so easy anyone can make it.

The only thing is that you must NOT just throw the bones and water together and boil it.

Always give the bones a first boil, discard the water and wash it with clean water. This will result in cleaner looking stock and less "meaty" smell.

---------------------------------------------

I have stocked up so much food for the week, getting ready to cook at home. Last week (cos we just came back from holidays), we have been eating out all day.

Update of my nauseous:
Unforunately, it is still going on. Not sure what is wrong with me!!! Maybe I must try to take less acidic food.

Chinese New Year in Perth

Since migrating to Perth, I have to get used to the Chinese New Year celebrations. I have the say that the only time I can really "feel" the CNY is in church.

This year, we had our celebration on a Saturday afternoon. It was different cos there were a few demostration on how to cook certain food. I wished I brought my camera!! Grr...

We had dumplings, Nian Gao and Po Piah. Not sure what dialects have these on CNY but there were really yummy! I had a feel on how to make the dumplings. It wasn't easy at all I must say! Just the fillings itself takes alot of effort because every ingredient has to be shredded thinly. Anyway as I mentioned, it was so good that I had like more than 10 dumplings!

Nian Gao was homemade! Can believe these days people still make them at home when they can buy them from anywhere! But this homemade one was really good. It wasn't very sweet and it was fried with my fav YAM!!

So now I can't say that I don't enjoy my CNY in perth!

Wendy is not well :(

I know I have been blogging happily for the past few days, but the real fact is I'm not well, definitely not very happy.

Since returning from Singapore, I had this migraine attack and it was one of the worst! That is after taking 5 painkillers still didnt really help. I woke up next morning with abit of aching. It's like if you shake your head, I can still feel the ache on the left skull.

After that incident which was only a few days past, I have been feeling nauseous like really really bad. I tried super hard not to vomit and it was a success. The scary thing was the feeling of vomiting only comes in the day.

I think my period is coming that's why I feel like that. But never have I felt nauseous.

Then the weather only made everything worse. The forecast for the week was around 36-37degrees. But guess what? Today is super cloudy and it is about 28 degrees. This type of weather makes me sick, headache and sleepy!

I cannot stop complaining!

Apart of being nauseous, I had cravings. After lunch, I was craving for chocolate! I'm not a chocolate fan but for some reasons it makes me happy after eating it.

Hmm.. hope this nauseous thingy goes away quickly. It's making me feel really down.

Happy Valentine's Day

I just read my sister blog! So jealous!!! James always cook for her!! Where's mine Fred!!! But James cooking really very good! I remembered they gave me leftovers from Lindy's bday lunch. No wonder my sis is growing fatter now ahahh.. *jokes jokes*

So what did we do for Vday? We went to Ikea the new store in Innaloo. I was quite surprised because it looks almost the same as the one in Singapore! I think the design is quite the same. Only disappointing thing is the variety of the food is the SAME?? I don't know why they don't want to come up with new ideas like in Singapore. Anyone who has been to IKEA Singapore surely know the famous chicken wings! I think because Perth has not well known local food.

Though there wasn't any flowers or candle light dinner, I was quite contented. I wouldn't want to do the Vday thing and make Fred buy me expensive flowers. He buys me flowers on other days anyway. Come to think of it, he is quite a sweet guy hehe...

Now I'm stressed about what to get him for his birthday... hmm... especially we did almost everything during our 3 weeks holiday! Any ideas??

Fred and Wendy

Tons of Photos! How??

Ok, I mentioned that I will be posting heaps of photos from the past few weeks events. Well, I just realised that I have got THOUSANDS OF PHOTOS! WHERE TO START!

I really mean heaps of photos! We were so blessed to have so many photographers for our two weddings. Just the following day, friends got the photos on disc and gave it to us. So far I think Fred received 4 dvds? Plus, the honeymoon.. there were about 5 G of pictures! MY GOD!

I think I will start with my family visiting Perth till the honeymoon? It is going to be looonnnng way!

Jumping to another topic... ...

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day! I know, it is very commercialised! Everyone, and usually younger couples tend to be the ones celebrating! I have no intention of celebrating... but seems like Fred is insisting we do something like... visiting the New IKEA store! It's huge!!! I wonder they have more food varieties! This morning he suggested taking the train down to Mandurah but I'm alittle skeptical. Incase we cannot get back... taking cab might cost us too much.

Last year we had beer and Brando's pizza at the river while other couples sitting on a nice picnic mat were having champagne and strawberries. No we don't have one of those nice checked mat, we had the natural comfort of pastures of green grass.

Ok enough of talking crap. I should've brought my photos to work for editing... ah well.. maybe tomorrow.. hehe

My Worst Migraine EVER

Have you ever had a migraine before?

Last evening, just before I was going to leave work, I saw some glaring light on my computer screen. It was a hot and sunny day. The white wall outside my office is reflecting the sun and blinding my eyes. I didn't think that will give me migraine. But I knew it was coming.

By the time I got to Fred's building (which is just across the road), I was see visions of watery image. I cannot describe it better, only those who got migraine knows what I'm talking about.

I thought I was hungry. But no, it just became worse. I got home and took a 10-degree shower. I thought it would help. But no, it just became worse.

I went straight to bed. Someone was poking my left eye, poking it so hard that I couldn't even open it. Another person is churning in my tummy, I was having seasick. Pins were stabbed onto my left skull. Someone please kill me right now!!

Fred was really sweet. He took care of me. I felt so bad, ruining the evening. He gave me sour plum (thanks to Lindy who bought it for me, she knew it would come handy), honey as I requested, and instant noodles. He massaged my hand to smoothe my pain and made sure that the room wasn't too warm or cool.

I took a total of 5 painkiller last night.

I woke up this morning with a slight ache on the same spot. I was going to take MC. But no I decided to go to work. I just hope I will not see another glare of light which is going to trigger my migraine.

I hate you migraine. Why do u even exist!

Back to Perth

Last night flight was good. I didn't feel sick or anything. Usually I feel very bloated after a flight and I would feel very nauseous. Maybe becos this time Fred bought us McSpicy on board. It is true when you get yummy food, you won't even think of being ill.

Today I'm back to work. Back to real life. 3 weeks of break was not a joke. It really makes me so lazy! But I should be uploading more pictures in the next few days once I finished unpacking my luggage and washing dirty laundry!

Sitting at my desk right now, I feel that I haven't had a holiday at all. It's like it never happened! Ok I'm mad. *slap slap* (Wendy wakes up).

I'm so lazy to blog...

to be continued... ...
