Seems like most people around me are eating salmon!
Since moving to Perth, I don't really buy fish.
Why?
- I don't know what type of fish is good for steaming, grilling, baking etc
- I suck at cooking them. Especially pan frying. Usually they sell fillets, so it is really difficult to handle them on pans.
- FISH is expensive here! VERY VERY EXPENSIVE
Well, for health reasons, I decided to buy salmon. It is also easier to consume. I mean, they don't taste so fishy. I bought two huge slices at $17! Expensive right?? Ah well, must be rich to eat fish in Australia.
Ingredients:
Salmon
Salt and pepper
Lemon juice
Butter
Method: Just heat the pan and add butter. I sprinkle salt onto the salmon before placing them on the pan. I will cook it on one side for about 4 mins and pour lemon juice on it. After which, turn them over for about 45 secs and pour lemon juice on it.Turn the stove off and close it with a lid. It will cook by itself for another 1.5 min. Try not to overcook salmon because it will be too dry.
Serve it with mash potatoes and hollandaise sauce. I was alittle lazy so I used instant mashies and sauce and they tasted so great!
