Sleeping Problem

Seems like everyone is having sleeping problems! Not really maybe just my sista and me.

Well, I usually have sleeping problems before my period comes (I'm always talking about period). I would feel really tired but unable to sleep. I would wake up at 3am thinking that it is time for work! Sounds scary but it felt like I'd slept for hours.

My sista is a stewardess, so she does shift work which can be very stressing. I don't think she is missing sleep, just that she finds it hard to sleep before a morning flight.

Here are some of my findings and maybe it might help:

  1. Alcohol: I tried a couple of shots of volka, sometimes a glass of red wine. It works but alittle dehyrating.
  2. Carbs: Eat alot of food with high carbs. Rice, pasta, meat, more rice and etc.
  3. Warm milk: Apparently it works, that's why you always give your kids warm milk before they sleep
  4. Aromatherapy: I haven't tried this but I know lavender oil is popular for calming one down.
  5. Horlicks: Ok I found this in wikipedia.
  6. Milo: Well, it works for me but do not use condensed milk. Use fresh milk
  7. Exercise: Exercise is good but it will actually make you feel more energetic. So if you cannot sleep, please do not work out! I heard this from a boxing instructor.
  8. Read: I think it is a calming activity. I think preferably no magazines. It might get you excited especially all the shopping stuff.
